Express is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to join our team.

The Sales Associate is responsible for p providing a great in-store shopping experience for our retail customers while assisting with additional tasks such as stocking, cleaning, folding merchandise, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, checkout, fitting room, and stock room to ensure the store is safe and inviting to customers.
  • Follow company policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all our associates and customers.
  • Assist with product launch changes according to company SOP.
  • Provide a Great Customer Experience
  • Deliver on all aspects of the customer experience model.
  • Process transactions quickly and accurately reducing the customers wait time.
  • Positively resolve customer service-related issues as they arise and determine resolution or escalate further – communicate allissues and resolutions to Store Management.
  • Drive credit and loyalty member programs by explaining benefits and encouraging customers to participate.
  • Other essential functions may occur as directed by your supervisor.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: High School or Equivalent
  • Years of Experience: 0-2 of relevant job experience – minimum 6 months
  • Proficient in use of technology (iPad, registers)
  • Meets defined availability criteria, including nights, weekends and non-business hours
  • Meets physical requirements

Critical Skills & Attributes

  • Previous retail experience preferred
  • Customer service skills and ability to interact with customers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills specifically with customers, sales leadership team and associates
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team

  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Reliable and dependable (Maintain a regular attendance and work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including nights, weekends, and holidays)
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to use POS (Point-of-Sale) system and iPad (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams)
  • Experience working independently as well as within a collaborative, team environment
  • Must be able to work weekends

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in managing store operations to ensure a great customer experience and maximum profitability. The Assistant Store Manager will perform all management functions in the absence of the Store Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Service and Results

  • Demonstrates “Play to Win” mindset. Leads by example in driving sales plan and other KPIs with a customer first approach. Has a passion to provide great customer service.
  • Partners with Store Manager to plan and execute grassroots events, marketing activities and compelling visual presentations.
  • Maintains sales floor awareness and resolves customer concerns quickly and effectively.

Recruit, Coach and Develop Team

  • Supports Store Manager in recruiting top talent and builds a bench of internal and external candidates.
  • Provides timely feedback, training, and coaching that result in improved performance.
  • Holds team accountable for achieving performance and service expectations.
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully and promotes teamwork.

Operations

  • Maintains general operations of the store including keyholding responsibilities and adheres to all operational policies and procedures, including loss prevention, to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Organizes and leads efforts to maintain a store that is safe, clean, and easy to shop.
  • Executes corporate directives within designated timeframes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • High school diploma or equivalent along with 2 years of retail sales experience. Specialty store or boutique preferred.
  • Strong organizational and retail selling skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Retail math and technology aptitude including ability to operate POS, PC, email, and iPad functions.
  • Ability to make bank deposits and assume keyholder responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Must be reliable, dependable, and able to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
